Default Please don't make me go through the missions, AGAIN. :)

I can easily see where I'll want to create 4 characters or more and ascend them (I'm almost done with my first one; he's in the desert.), but I can see where I might get pretty tired of doing the missions over and over, again, to get there. Might not mind so much with my next char, but by the third one I'm going to be pretty tired of Frost Gate and the Wilds. And by the 4th char, well, I'm guessing I'll be hatin' it.

I'd like to suggest letting chars level up in the arenas. What do you think? You already get good exp in arenas if you win, so why not? I'm open to other suggestions, too. This is the only one I can think of, now.

Maybe the future add-ons will allow provide new quests for lower level chars to ascend...

Anyone have any thoughts.

You don't have to do the missions. Problem solved.

It might be boring to play the same primary class again, but each class has different quests and so it can be a completely new experience. For example I've got a Wa/Ne in the desert and yesterday I've started a Mo/Me as a supporter for my guild and a recently formed party. Playing with this completely different char is an amazing new experience for me.

If you are just interested in PvP and your char and his abilities, I can understand that you'll get bored. Nevertheless I'd vote against your idea, sorry. It annoying enough that you can change nearly your entire character during the game.

Shagsbeard,

Not sure I understood your response.

If I don't want a pre-made PvP char, I have to go through the missions to get to the end and the HoH. You have to go through the Sanctum Cay mission to get to the desert and do the quests from there to get to HoH. As far as I know, there's no way around that.

Maybe you're wondering, Why not go with a pre-made PvP? They suck against experienced teams and any character you've ascended through missions has far more abilities and options.

Jack,

You do realize that you can create custom PvP characters with the skills and items you have unlocked with your PvE characters? Also, you can use the pre-mades as a starting template and add skills and items to them as well.

No, I didn't realize that. Thanks, Thorizdin. That might be the answer to my anguish.

Personally, I would love to see a "forever" unlocked mechanism for characters, that is, all areas you'ved opened are opened to all of your characters you make. This I would have to say, doesn't include missions and would require people to complete the ascension areas then all of the others similarly.

In a game which lets you skip to level 20 and paste on the highest ratings of armor, runes and upgrades you might have come across, as well as get a template and shift around all your skills, as well as be at 200 attribute points, I can see no reason to force another person who desires to take the time to create a second character to complete all of the missions once again.

A few may become worried with say powering someone there, but, I've never seen a horrid side to this, and can see especially less with the personalized zones which Guild Wars uses for everything. If someone has friends to get them there, let them help him, they'll power him elsewhere, the timesink to that is annoying. But, with one character I either have to spend a massive amount of points and money to gain a few skills, or half the money and greater sums of time trying to capture, in order to unlock skills, so next best thing, create a new character.

But, boredom sets in, very quick, running these same, weaker missions. I would like to bring my elementalist elsewhere, perhaps pick up a few skills, which once again isn't realistically unbalanced since the skills are designed to be balanced with one another on the basis of points, and start fighting harder monsters rather than wasting my time in ascalon.

Or just open the map for us and remove the fog of war. That's all I want. Maybe put a level restriction on some cities that are higher leveled (I mean, you can always walk there if you're level 5, from the nearest town that will let you enter, but that doesn't mean you'll survive the journey).

I'm not looking forward to making another character right now due to that fact alone. Remove the fog of war and put a level restriction on some cities (you shouldn't be in shiverpeaks if you're level 7, sorry).

That......would be chaos. Can you imagine a bunch of levels 20s running aorund with no idea how to do their job? *shudders* oh wait that's kinda how it already is, just kidding heh

I don't know so much about all that, ascention is the "next step" of the game... and besides, ive seen lvl 5's in amnoon oasis... so it can be done, just gotta find the right guild... heh

And if you like pvp more then not... just change your secondary class and get your needed skills with whatever character you have... heh

I've beaten the game once... and after that, you'll realize that you've become ALOT better at the game, and it makes everything a breeze...

**We do have to remember this is a mmorpg.. and it's fresh off the racks, so the missions will end up carrying on even farther with the expansions!**

Try to get good at that whole, liking a character idea, heh... im only gonna have two pve characters, in which both will switch secondary classes to get all my needed skills... Ranger/nec and ele/nec at the moment, ranger nec has been changed to warrior/mo/me, so i have quite a few combo's for my pvp char ^.^

It's a CORP, competetive online role playing game.

I'm on my third time through and I'll reassure you quite plainly: The quests don't get too old.

Yes, by your 50th time through "Defend the Wall" you might be growing a little sick of it, but I've never found a mission to be pure un-fun. After all, you get such good rewards for finishing missions that they never feel like wastes of time (the one exception being doing a no0b quest after ascending.)

I've found that every unique character you make has a very different playstyle... which easily balances the actual scripting of the missions. One moment you'll be knocking the Charr down with hammers, then penalizing them for using physical, and on another freezing them to their graves. Really, missions are just an excuse to get experience, progress through the story, have non-stop action, and further develop a character... most of which do not get tedious to the point of boredom over time.
